Job Description and Responsibilities:

Wynn Resorts is the recipient of more Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world. Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005 and was once again named the best resort in Nevada on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 “Gold List,” a title received for the tenth time. Wynn and Encore Las Vegas feature two luxury hotel towers with a total of 4,750 spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas, approximately 192,000 square feet of casino space, 21 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 290,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, approximately 103,000 square feet of retail space as well as three nightclubs, a beach club and recreation and leisure facilities. In addition to two luxury retail esplanades, a Strip-front expansion, Wynn Plaza, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.

The Litigation Paralegal will be a responsible for providing pre-litigation, litigation and collection support to the General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel, and Labor and Employment Counsel for Wynn Las Vegas and its corporate affiliates.

Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain the litigation/administrative action calendars, budgets, and update case summaries and monthly status reports.
• Track litigation activity/expenses of each department.
• Work effectively with outside counsel to respond to discovery requests in a timely manner.
• Draft discovery responses, complaints, and legal pleadings as directed. File pleadings and make runs to the courthouse or outside counsel offices as needed.
• Monitor litigation progress and work with outside counsel to ensure that the case management plan for each case is geared to achieve the litigation goal while still controlling costs.
• Work effectively with other internal departments to respond to subpoenas and records requests and ensure that all responses are completed in a timely manner.
• Work with outside counsel and internal departments to initiate and maintain litigation holds.
• Maintain case management database for all collections, litigation, litigation holds, and subpoena/record request responses.
• Conduct asset searches, background searches, and case law research as directed.
• Prepare letters sent on behalf of Legal Department and manage related communications.
• Work with outside counsel and internal departments on hotel and casino collections.
• Attend all department meetings and contribute to the continuing effort to improve the work product of the Legal Department.
• Assist with other projects as needed by the Legal Department.

Job Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience as a paralegal, and hold an AA or Certificate in Paralegal Studies.
• Must be able to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Must be able to handle a high pressure environment, possess excellent communication skills and phone etiquette, work well in a team environment, as well as work independently without much supervision.
• Must be experienced with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Pro, be familiar with litigation management software, and be comfortable with upgrades and technology improvements.
• Must be 18 year of age or older.
