The Director of Catering & Banquets oversees all aspects of the daily operation of the hotel's Catering & Banquets operation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Must have extensive experience running a Banquet department at a hotel with multiple meeting room & ballroom facilities.
  • Ensure preparation of required reports, including (but not limited to) payroll & scheduling, revenue & financial reporting.
  • The Director must have expertise in hiring, training & recruitment for all Banquet positions.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory and supplies as necessary to support catering business, interpreting all Banquet Event Orders from Catering, as well as communicating and coordinating with any & all operating departments such as Banquet Kitchen or Beverage.
  • Ensure compliance with all SOPs, liquor laws, health department & sanitation regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining company equipment and facility, identifying and enforcing the maintenance of company assets & equipment through handling & storage, working to reduce loss of hotel property, and performing all other duties as determined by the VP/Executive Director of F&B.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to communicate, read & write in English fluently & in a professional manner. 2nd language a plus.
  • Strong computer skills required in Excel, Word, Delphi, Kronos.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 year experience in a supervisory position in a high end, high volume, luxury hotel/restaurant beverage or banquet department.
  • Must have strong knowledge & previous experience with fine dining service techniques.
  • Candidate must exhibit strong motivational & developmental skills.
  • Requires the ability to work efficiently & within a team environment.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
