The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager in coordinating and managing all aspects of the project including the contract, subcontractor work, safety and the schedule. Strives to maintain project budget while meeting or exceeding company’s quality standards. Overall responsibilities include creating, reviewing and tracking all project documentation and monitoring the scope and quality of work to maintain compliance with contract. The Project Engineer may also be assigned small projects to manage under the supervision of a Project manager / Sr Project Manager.


• Under the supervision of the Project Manager / Superintendent facilitates coordination of contractor / subcontractor agreements and relationships by soliciting bids, defining scope and specifications of work, notifying contractor / subcontractors of contract awards and administering contracts.
• Participates in job walks and documents and reports findings 
• Creates, tracks and processes purchase orders for approval of the Project Manager. 
• Creates and maintains project procurement log(s) ensuring on time delivery of all building materials.
• Coordinates the procurement of the required permits for construction activity including working with the architects and engineers to get timely responses to permit review comments. 
• Maintain open permit log to ensure permits are closed on completed projects and are kept active on ongoing projects.
• Achieves Wynn Design & Development and Wynn Resorts satisfaction through constant monitoring of project and a commitment to quality. 
• Maintains job-related paperwork including reviewing and updating monthly job progress reports and maintains plans and specifications so that they always reflect the most current information
Processes submittals including:
Determining if submittals are per project specifications/drawings
Delivering and/or arranging delivery of submittals to necessary departments (Interiors, Architecture, etc.)
Distributing submittals in a timely fashion to General Contractor (or subcontractors) and determining if particular submittals affect other trades.
Processes Request For Information including:
Determining if requested information is valid or not
Determining if requested information has cost impact
Logging RFI into document tracking software (Buzzsaw)
Distributing RFI to appropriate department (Interiors, Architecture, etc.)
Relaying RFI response to General Contractor (or subcontractors) in a timely fashion
Incorporate RFI changes into history set of drawings
Under the supervision of the project superintendent / Project Manager oversees on-site work to ensure job compliance with company quality and safety standards.
• Reviews ongoing design clarifications / modifications and works with the Project Manager to identify cost and schedule implications. Assists in evaluating / generating appropriate change documents and participates in negotiating any change orders with clients and subcontractors.
• Maintains project logs and files and protects the company from exposure to claims and liens.
• Creates typed correspondence and spreadsheets and other computer applications with attention to detail and quality.
• Handles a varied workload and multiple priorities while working as a team with co-workers to accomplish department goals.
• Represents department at all times with professionalism and a commitment to quality. 
• Work with Project Manager to properly close completed projects out including:
Knowing project well enough to determine if certain items are applicable (QAA, MQAA, test & balance reports, etc.)
Communicating with project manager to determine if change orders are complete or are still in negotiation
Communicating with General Contractors (or subcontractors) in order to procure necessary items (O&Ms, as-builts, etc.)
Communicating with Accounting to determine if certain waivers and/or warranties have been received (if applicable)
Submitting permit and as-built drawings to Architecture for distribution
Completing project close-out check list
• Assists Project Manager / Superintendent with the creation and management of completion and punch lists as necessary to ensure all work in place meets or exceeds project expectations.
• Coordinates architectural activities and applicable city or county project inspections. Assists in resolving any architectural or inspection-related problems and issues. 
• Oversees on-site work to ensure job compliance with company quality and safety standards.
• Assists field personnel in resolving any issues, questions or concerns. Facilitates guidance, direction and/or clarification as needed.
• Participates with the Project Manager in the review and approval of Contractor / Subcontractor billings ensuring that billings represent the work in place.
• Work with the Project Manager to understand and track project cost against budget.
• Develop cost estimates on small projects for review by Project Manager.
• Develop construction schedules for review by Project Manager and or Superintendent. Maintain and update schedules under the supervision of the Project Manager and or Superintendent. Create and maintain short term schedules that tie back to the project master schedule.
• Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with Wynn Resorts management team.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field, or a minimum of five years construction field or office experience with good working knowledge of all aspects of construction and construction trades. 
• Must maintain current OSHA 30.
• Familiar with MS Office Software, project tracking software such as Buzzsaw and Primavera P6 Scheduling.
• Ability to communicate effectively with office and field personnel and establish and maintain productive relationships. 
• Ability to read and interpret plan documents and a good understanding of construction practices and processes.
• Must possess a professional appearance and demeanor and the ability to work independently with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrates understanding of standard concepts, practices and procedures within construction field.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of commercial construction projects. Demonstrates a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, building materials and required standards. Applies excellent knowledge and understanding of construction terms and descriptions.
• Performs tasks with commitment to excellence and a high level of motivation to learn new tasks and assume additional job responsibilities. 
• Good written and oral communications and team skills 
• Able to work receive direction and then work independently. 
• Must be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough. Creative and resourceful in completing tasks accurately in a compressed timeframe.
